Episode 3 – Atheism

5 Feb

Hey everyone – a brief episode covering how you might engage an atheist friend in conversation as well as some common responses they might have when asked to defend the truth of atheism. It doesn’t go very deep into your responses which include the following three arguments for God’s existence:

The Cosmological argument (specifically the Kalam version)

The Teleological argument (specifically fine tuning, although intelligent design is ok)

The Moral argument.

I hope to find some good resources online to point you to – but learning these arguments is very helpful in dialogue with atheists. If you’re looking for a book I highly recommend the newest edition of Reasonable Faith by William Lane Craig. Don’t hesitate to email questions or suggestions to whatdoIsaytothat@gmail.com

Haven’t listened to the episode yet, but thought I’d send you this since you said you were looking for some good resources (apologies if you already have it. I just discovered it a day ago.)

It’s by W. L. Craig, about 30 pages, and pretty thorough while still being very readable. It’s called “Five Arguments For God.” He gives two versions of the cosmological argument, plus the moral, the teleological, and the ontological. I’m about halfway through it. Seems a very good introduction to the arguments. He also interacts with Dawkins response to the arguments.
